And your response is completely valid, I'll have you know. It's natural to want to defend those in distress, especially when we know them personally. I've also recently read that the human brain is not 'equipped' to deal with the shame and guilt that comes along with being 'cancelled' in this day in age. As you said, it's super complex, because some may believe the punishment fits the crime. I am not so sure.
