fall

a golden, hopeful time..

where the wind blows listlessly and leaves a cold chill wherever it goes.

while the leaves transform, you can feel yourself transforming, too.

painful memories, good memories, and future hopes….

they come, go, and fall to the ground. just to be reborn anew.

isn’t that what the leaves do?

when the winds of change begin to blow, we’re hopeless to resist.

let them carry you towards winter’s bitter, graying grip.

it’s not a matter of fear, but a matter of fact.

the world can be understood just like that………….

we were brought into a decaying world, one infused with a delicate combination of beauty and misery; both qualities so fleeting that they’re hardly perceptible. that’s what fall wants to show us.

in the fall, some leaves flash a bright red or a bright gold before slipping off of their branches and onto the ground. the same leaves that had sprouted during springtime’s call and survived summer’s choking heat are gone in an instant, leaving branches bare. yet the tree itself remains firm, ready to repeat the cycle again as the earth sees fit.

nature plays this same game with all of its lifeforms — are our own lives not as such? our memories, thoughts, ideas, and experiences flash with the same golden hue that the leaves do. experiences come, go, and are born anew, just like tree leaves. we ourselves remain strong, but forever shaped by what we go through….

our world can tell us so much… if only we’d listen..
