Hi Jasmine, I think your comment is a great, fair question. My take: even if a majority of crime is coming from a certain race, that only highlights the fact that said group has less opportunities available to them. People who have healthy families, relationships, and money are far less likely to commit crimes than someone who was born in an ethnic ghetto. On a wider scale, we can say that societies receive the criminals that they deserve. Those criminals wouldn't exist were they not pushed to the fringes of society. Yes, they still choose to commit crime, but they wouldn't be forced to make that choice were it not for the historical nastiness of racism.
