I love this response, thank you for it and for reading my thoughts. I'm painfully aware of how different race and gender are, but was trying to analyze the former in the way I analyze the latter (to the extent that it makes sense to do so). I hope I didn't come across as some 'transracial' activist or anything of the sort. Also, the point you made about race itself being the social exaggeration has seriously floored me - it's a striking take and the one I think I may have been trying to make. I want to scrutinize 'race' in a similar way the author I mentioned scrutinizes gender/sex (though im very limited because again, two very different concepts with different biological realities) and I think your comment will help me to do so : )
