I specifically enjoy the ending, where you mention how frightening it can be navigating the minefield that is racism when you're black. Too often, discourse on this topic shies away from the multi-faceted nastiness that racism TRULY is, and boils it down to 'not liking (insert race)'. We need to be more comprehensive and constructive in our understanding of how race operates in America.. and you've done just that! A great read :)
