it’s disheartening and discouraging when one realizes that things like this are wrapped up in such a complex web of history and racial dynamics that it’s almost impossible to understand if you don’t already “get it”. like the other comments said, it isn’t just the cop. it’s the people who represent him, his (ex) co-workers, etc.

this 'bad apple’ analogy people run with is ridiculously outdated, and unrealistic. anyway, anyone with an ounce of sense has known that he was probably never in any danger. it’ll be interesting (and frustrating) to see how people will continue to run with that. anyway, R.I.P sandra and thanks for sharing. #sayhername
