Not a teacher, but this passage helps me understand your perspective quite well. I used to LOVE passing notes in school, and it was even more fun between classes. There was a certain excitement that came along with chatting across classrooms, and I can totally see how that excitement is flipped around and just released through virtual communication. Rather than something to look forward to (chatting through notes), kids/teens can just chat nonstop with whoever they want.
