Thanks, Sherry. I'm in the same boat as you. What Chrissy did was/is horrible, but we as the public are not jury, judge, and executioner. People are obsessed with the transgressions of others, especially celebrities. If she didn't apologize, people would have never let up. Now that she has, people see it as an insincere PR stunt. I would die before I ever defend a wealthy celebrity, but I will say that the public is just every bit as evil. And these comments show it. Being a public figure and dealing with the constant barrage moral bullets the public hammers you with seems exhausting.
